Diagnosticum in Saxony goes for GLIMS

The Diagnosticum – an independent privately owned group of specialist doctors in laboratory medicine, pathology, biology and chemistry Dr. Scholz und Partner – is one of the leading laboratories in Saxony  when it comes to all disciplines of laboratory medicine and pathology.  More than 400 employees at 11 locations provide more than 1,000 practitioners and walk-in facilities with more than 2,900 beds.

The continuous growth of the services portfolio and the deployment of the most modern devices and processes are just two of the many reasons why the number of customers has constantly been increasing. To secure this vigorous growth into the future Diagnosticum has decided to modernize its IT-landscape. At the end of August the group signed the contract with MIPS Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG for the migration to the laboratory information system GLIMS.

Dr. rer. nat. Stephan Scholz, founder of Diagnosticum and managing director, about the decision: ‘We want to continue centralizing and automizing our processes. In GLIMS, all applications run on one single database that means we now have a central point of access to all information. This speeds up and simplifies our work, for example the medical validation. At the same time we reduce deployment time and costs: for interfaces, hardware and, of course, for the administration of the system.

But we did not ’only’ want the best software solution, but also a partner we can rely on. Who has experience, expertise and sufficient resources to handle the deployment – and who fully supports us in the future. MIPS Germany and GLIMS have convinced us in every respect.’
