AZ Jan Palfijn takes Glims into production

MIPS is pleased to announce that the AZ Jan Palfijn hospital in Ghent has taken GLIMS into production on September 2, 2013.  All hospitals in Ghent are now using GLIMS in their laboratories.

The clinical laboratory of AZ Jan Palfijn consists of three specific domains: hematology, clinical chemistry and microbiology. These different departments were simultaneously automated by GLIMS.

Thanks to the constructive and professional collaboration between the multi-disciplinary teams of AZ Jan Palfijn (lab and IT) and the MIPS team, this project has been delivered as promised, thus optimizing the different lab processes.

We wish to thank the AZ Jan Palfijn team explicitly for the smooth collaboration and look forward to face any future challenges together.

Dr. Bruno Heyndrickx, Head Physician, Laboratory:

“The GLIMS implementation was a success thanks to the professional collaboration with the MIPS project team. The implementation deadlines were met and less than a year after the kick-off GLIMS was taken into production in our clinical laboratory. The third day after the go-live, we even managed to complete our routine half an hour earlier than the week before. The clear communication within the project team and the different parties involved lead to a successful implementation within our hospital.”
